Did I seal my fate – NaNoWriMo Part Two

I did it. I signed up for Nanowrimo. I even announced two projects – one novel and one children’s book. Did I do the right thing? I don’t know. Did I mention that creativity runs deep in my small family? Both of my children write – my daughter writes novels and like me dreams of being a published author. My son is more into script writing and DnD campaigns. My poor husband, who never got into reading much less creative writing, has to put up with three creative minds. My daughter tried this event last year and only made it 1/2 way through. My son signed up alongside me this year. I’ll let you know how it goes. Here’s a link in case anyone wants to be my buddy: https://nanowrimo.org/participants/shannon-mccauley

In the meantime, I was thinking of starting a second blog. I made a new category on here for genealogy but this isn’t a blog for that so I wonder if it is a mistake to add it. Should I do a whole separate space for that and keep this just for writing? I am hoping people will let me help them find their roots. I am good at looking for the complicated answers. It’s just a hobby though.

Another hobby I share with my children is collecting board games. This hobby even my husband enjoys. Last count, we have 156 of them (boardgames not husbands), and we are always looking for new mechanics – a new way to play. Board games are an underrated form of entertainment and there are so many aspects to them. Did you know there are some that are just aesthetically beautiful? Ironically, the only thing I don’t like about board games is when they come with a literal book of directions. I am always the direction reader and I just want to dive right in and play. I don’t know why they make it so complicated. Would you visit a blog on board games? Should that be another separate blog?

Enough of the late night ramblings. I have a charity walk tomorrow and need sleep. Good night for now my friends – may your words flow easily today.
