I have a five or six complete books mapped out in my head. Getting them into the computer or finding time to get them from my head into the computer is an issue. With all the AI stuff going around, there is nothing that will let me beam my thoughts – and they said this was the future! I’m just kidding.
But I am curious, what kind of writer are you? Do you write in linear order from start to finish – writing as the reader would read it? Or are you a non-linear writer – writing scenes and dialogue as they come to your mind. I try to be linear, but I think that is my sticking point. I think I need to write as the words and scenes come to mind because I get stuck on minute details. For example, one book I am working on has a cat in it. I can’t come up for a good name for the cat. I got stuck. I started researching cat names and could not find one I liked. I left my character standing there, nameless cat weaving around her ankles – she stands there still. It’s been months. She’s probably cold and hungry by now, all because I could not find a name for a particularly magical feline.
It’s been busy here, for really no discernible reason. My son was applying and was accepted to a new college. My daughter is getting ready to go back to work full time for a few months and then on to the next adventure. My husband injured himself at the gym and has been traveling all over – so I am here taking care of all things and working whenever I can. I also have two ancestry projects going. Like I said, it’s been busy. I am fitting writing in when I can.
Anyone have a great name for a cat?
