Dragon Stew (The End)

If you missed any of the other four parts, go back a few days and read them. I hope you enjoyed this little fairytale. Read on to see if they live happily ever after.

When he arrived back at the town far beneath the dragon’s keep, he borrowed the largest bowl they had and set the dish out in front of the castle. He filled the bowl with the nasty smelling, sticky mixture and set it down as he ran to hide in the bushes.

The door opened as if by magic. Out stepped the huge, green dragon. Windsor sniffed at the bowl appreciatively and took one giant mouthful. He was so greedy that he took way too much at once. When he tried to open for some more, his mouth was glued shut! Hildegarde had not made the stew that she was supposed to, instead she made chewing gum. Windsor’s jaws were temporarily stuck, giving Princess Jenny more than enough time to escape her captor.

Princess Jenny fled the castle and into the arms of her hero. They returned to the town and so did the sunshine. They were married immediately, and the dragon never bothered them again. Do you think it was because his mouth was stuck shut forever? No! He found a new prisoner to keep in his castle. He liked his chewing gum so much that he captured Hildegarde and made her his cook, which suited her just fine. Windsor told her all the stories that he knew by heart, as she could not see to read them. They too lived happily ever after!
